Many things happen in the office at Pelham School. About three kids come in the office a day because they are hurt. Ms. Moore says that there are about two kids that come in because they are bad! Ms. Moore says that there are about one and on occasion two kids who go home because they are sick. The office gets about $65.00 a day in milk money. About one kid forgets their lunch money a day. More kids come in the office because they are not feeling well rather than hurt. I love visiting the office. à

Butterflies fly in the air and they fly to Mexico. I wish that I could be a butterfly. We studied about the Monarch Butterflies. Before butterflies turn into a monarch they are caterpillars. They have to go in a chrysalis to become a butterfly. In Mexico, trees are the favorite home for butterflies because they can cling to branches. A female butterfly does not have dots. We took care of them. We fed them milkweed. We had a party about butterflies. In the end we released them into the air. Butterflies tongues are called proboscis. Monarchs are white, black and orange. Boy, I wish that I could be a butterfly. à

The first grade is very excited about their first publication. We have been working very hard on the articles and it has been a rewarding process. The students first picked a topic that interested them and then came up with interview questions. Once they found out the answers, they started writing their articles. The first graders put a lot of time and effort into their articles. We are all very proud of our paper and I hope that you enjoyed reading it. Thanks for your interest in our work here at Pelham Elementary School! à
